I have been using the SteelSeries Rival 110 Custom TrueMove1 mouse for gaming mostly when playing PubG. In my opinion I have found it to be extremely effective as a gaming mouse. SteelSeries presented the Rival 110 mouse as a successor to the Rival 100 series and the company claims to offer unparalleled quality to gamers at a very reasonable rate courtesy to its custom TrueMove1 optical sensor.
These claims are not completely exaggerated and the mouse does provide seamless gaming experience for most of the time if not always in my experience. The SteelSeries Engine 3 Software is easy to use and has ensured that I do not face any difficulties while connecting this mouse. The size of the Rival 110 suits my grip (big hands) and its design allows agile movements. During my usage I have not come across any issues related to the build quality. The lighting features and its lightweight design make it pretty handy.
Overall I am happy with the investment I made buying the SteelSeries Rival 110 definitely feel like I got a good deal.
Custom TrueMove1 optical sensor
The most satisfying part of this mouse is its custom TrueMove1 optical sensor. This sensor which is rumored as either customized Pixart PMW 3320 or PMW 3330 provides smooth and hassle free experience and it is ideal for gamers who play first person shooter games. Compared to the Sensei 310 series, this sensor has lower inches per second (240 ips) and lower maximum counts per inch (7,200 cpi) but it still gets the job done.
SteelSeries has done considerable research on the design element and it reflects in their mouse models. This Rival 110 series comes with a pretty neat design that is suitable for right-handers. The anti-sweat coating is a useful up gradation and the soft plastic textured side grips prevent my hands from slipping. The mouse in narrower in the front than the back and has perfect edges. These features offer it an edge over its competitors.
The RGB LED lighting feature
The lighting feature of this mouse is quite impressive and I simply love it. The LED lights are adjustable and work according to your games. While playing the CSGO games, the LEDs of the mouse become green and when the health decreases the LEDS turn into red. The liberty of customizing the mouse with 16.8 million colors is simply fantastic and definitely makes this Rival 110 a winner.
Worth its price
In this price bracket, this SteelSeries mouse offers a lot more than its competitors. In fact it is a better product than some other expensive alternatives available in the market. The robust design works well for heavy usage and at this price you cannot ask for more. The other options in the market which are in the same price range do not provide as many features which SteelSeries is offering although checking out other products before buying is recommended.
The cable material and length
The length of the mouse chord is satisfactory but a little longer chord would have made things easier. The cable is coated with soft rubber which is a turn off. SteelSeries should have used a better quality material here.
Thumb buttons are forward
The grip of the mouse is comfortable but the positioning of the thumb buttons can be a little irritating at times. These buttons are forward and for users with fingertip design, it may affect their user experience.
Overall this mouse is a seriously good option and because of that I have featured it in my best gaming mice under $50 guide.
