#1 HyperX Cloud II (KHX-HSCP-RD) 53mm (Editors Choice)

HyperX-Cloud-II

This is a great headset that offers 7.1 surround sound and a unique 53mm magnetic neodymium driver that gives this a really powerful sound. TeamSpeak have actually gone and certified this device due to the effort HyperX have made to with this headset for gamers. This is headset is pretty rare in the sense that the microphone is actually one of the standout features. For starters the microphone has noise canceling and echo canceling via an internal sound card which makes sure that only your voice is picked up super clearly. Don’t get me wrong though the other features like comfort, sound and design also get a big A+ from me. The headphones have velour cushions which make sure my ears don’t get painful after long hours of gaming and I have found this headset to be extremely durable as they have survived many knocks, falls and long journeys inside my bag.

#2 Razer ManO’War Wired 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset

Razer-ManO’War

The Razer ManO’War is a huge big black chunk of quality audio engineering. With all that space inside it packs a 7.1 virtual sound engine which gives it a great surround sound design which is great for making your games feel more realistic. On first impressions it may look like this headset is going to be extremely uncomfortable but let me tell you that when trying this on I was impressed with cushions that made it a relaxing experiencing gaming with these. It works with Mac, PC, PS4 and Xbox One as you can tell this really is a headset built for gamers but if you want to use this with the Xbox One then make sure to check if you need a special stereo adapter. Couple of things I would mention is that due to the lower price point it looks like they have used cheaper materials and I wouldn’t exactly this a “long-lasting” headset if you know what I mean. The other thing as well is that the microphone is great.

Pros

  • Embedded with 50-millimeter magnet drivers
  • Durable, adjustable microphone
  • Offers 16.8 million color options
  • check
    Includes a volume adjustment lever
  • check

If you are living on a strict budget, this is the gaming headset for you, plus its components are quality and durable.

#3 Corsair VOID Wireless RGB Gaming Headset, White

Corsair-VOID

This is a headset that just about makes it into my list to the price tag, it is very high quality, and I am a fan of the Corsair brand for gaming uses. This particular headset comes in a beautiful white color and looks has a futuristic look to it that I like. Corsair has added multiple cool small features that make this headset stand out. They have added things like Microfiber mesh and memory foam on the ear pads and an LED light on the microphone that alerts you to whether or not your mic is muted or not which sounds like something trivial but there is nothing worse thinking you are on mute then having everyone else in your game hear you say something embarrassing. Because of the higher price point, it seems like Corsair has decided to build this headset out of stronger high-quality plastic and therefore the longevity of this headset is considerably longer than some of the others in this list which makes this good value for money. The microphone on this Corsair isn’t the best and also the wireless on this doesn’t have an extremely long range which might be an issue for some gamers.

Pros

  • Offers a 40-foot wireless range
  • Extended 16-hour battery life
  • Embedded with 50-millimeter neodymium speaker
  • check
    LED mute indicator light
  • check
Compatible with Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7 and PC
  • check
    Equipped with USB port
  • check
    Works with CUE software
  • check
    Works while charging

Cons

  • People nearby can hear sounds emitting from the headset
  • thumbs-down
    Software could use an upgrade

The Cosair VOID is a fabulous headset and this is not to mention its unique design. You will get so many compliments on this headset, as it has an awesome modern look, with a lighted microphone. The headband is padded to ensure comfort for gamers that enjoy playing for extended periods.

#4 Turtle Beach XO Ear Force Three 50mm For Xbox One

Turtle-Beach-XO

The Turtle Beach XO Ear Force isn’t the only headset offered by this slow, boring beach animal company but probably one of the best. The XO three for starters is very reasonably priced and great value because you get a lot for what you pay. When using these with the Xbox One, I was quick to notice that the sound quality was superb and that came down to the “surround sound ready” feature built into this headset. As well as that the 50mm speakers which are larger than average for a gaming headset made sure that I got a nice crisp sound that wasn’t distorting. The sound was good in my opinion, and the microphone attached to this was a pleasant surprise. It’s pretty much common knowledge that if you buy a gaming headset, you should not buy it exclusively for the microphone as they usually suck. The Turtle Beach XO mic, however, was perfect and I would say that it does not suck by any means.

Pros

  • Embedded with 50-millimeter speakers
  • High-sensitivity, flexible microphone
  • In-line controls conveniently located
  • check
    Mute feature
  • check
Compatible with PS4, Xbox One, Mac and PC
  • check
    Equipped with a 3.5mm jack

Cons

  • Requires Headset audio adapter to connect to Xbox one controllers, which is sold separately
  • thumbs-down
Cable is thick, but could use an upgrade

The Turtle Beach XO Three is truly one of the very best headphones for Xbox owners. This headset might be specifically designed for the Xbox, but it works great for other devices as well. On top of that, it features convenient in-line controls. These controls ensure that you’ll be able to make adjustments on the go. If you want crystal clear chat, this is the headset for you!

#5 SteelSeries Arctis 5 illuminated 7.1 Surround Sound

SteelSeries-Arctis-5

The Steel Series is brand you might have already heard of as they are starting to make their name as a solid choice for quality gaming headsets. The Arctis 5 is a good budget offering from this innovative company and provides excellent value. My favourite feature with the steel series has to be the background noise cancellation that allows you to immerse yourself in whatever game you decide to play. It also does a good job of letting you hear the voices of other gamers which some other gaming headsets manufacturers seem to forget. This is all done by the 7.1 surround sound system and s1 audio driver built inside these headphones. It is also done by the adjustable settings you have in your control. The steel series company have in fairness spent much time trying to make these comfortable, but in my opinion, I would say they have failed when you compare these to other similar priced headsets in this list that offer far much more comfortable for long periods of gaming.

Pros

  • Bold graphics, beautiful design
  • Available in a variety of colors (red, black, blue, white and gray)
  • Compatible with PC, PS4, VR, Mobile, Switch and Xbox One
  • check
    Comfortable padded earcuffs
  • check
Adjustable volume control conveniently located on earcuff
  • check
    Great sound quality

Cons

  • Proprietary cable needs to be longer
  • thumbs-down
Mute button is hard to depress

The SteelSeries Artis 5 offers plenty of benefits. It is available in numerous colors and the audio quality is nearly unmatched. Plus, this headset can be used with pretty much any device. It works with the Xbox One, Android, iOS, PC, and even the PlayStation 4. If you want the best of the best, you should definitely consider giving this one a chance!

#6 Sennheiser GSP 300 Gaming Headset

Sennheiser-GSP-300

This pair of Sennheiser headphones was made for hardcore gamers who enjoy multiplayer gaming. If you own a PC, Mac, PS4 or Xbox One, then this is a good headset for you and will be compatible with your devices. This sound on the Sennheiser GSP 300’s is especially good when it comes to bass, and that was my favorite feature when trying these on, it makes the games I’m playing feel cinematic and quite real. I was also really impressed with the microphone on these headphones and liked the noise cancelling feature they had. A good gaming headset for me is one that has a great microphone so other players can hear my voice clearly at all times. The two points on any headset that usually provide the most pain after a long time of gaming are on the ears. With the GSP 300’s the ear cups are cushioned very nicely and as well as comfort that will also help with background noise cancelling. The one thing I would mention and this might sound quite strange; if you are in an environment that is very hot, the ear cups can feel quite hot and sweaty.

Pros

  • Available in numerous colors
  • Plenty of padding everywhere
  • Features a noise-cancelling microphone
  • check
Volume control is right near the ear cup
  • check
Works great for PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
  • check
Noise isolation delivers better audio experience

Cons

  • Not great value for money

The Sennheiser is undeniably a good investment. The product is totally sleek and more than capable of satisfying the mass majority of gamers. As long as you’re happy with the corded setup, you’ll absolutely love this headphone. It works exceptionally well in pretty much every category.

#8 Logitech G230 Folding Mic

Logitech-G230

The this Logitech headset surprised me because for the how cheap this headset is I was expecting the quality to match that and not be very good. In my opinion, this headset is really super value for money, and I am sure Logitech might increase the price of this in the future. The sound in these headphones isn’t optimized for music, but instead, it is obvious and precise which makes it great for games like PubG where you can hear footsteps and gunshots super clearly. If you don’t want team mates to hear you in the game, then the fold up mic feature on this headset will be useful. I liked the ear cups on this headset, and I found out that you can remove them for cleaning which is something I didn’t even think about, but if you are gaming for hours on end in humid conditions then it does make sense to clean your ear cups. This headset is not wireless but does come with a long cable which has a volume dial on it making it easy for you to control sound levels on the fly.

Pros

  • Soft cloth earpads are very comfortable
  • Lightweight and comfortable all day long
  • Sound controls are readily available
  • check
    Features a noise-cancelling boom mic
  • check
    Price is definitely reasonable

Cons

  • May develop cracks very quickly
  • thumbs-down
    Needs to be replaced often

The Logitech G230 is not available in many colors, but it is cool in its own right. Plus, it offers great versatility and can be used with pretty much any device. The soft and very durable cloth earpads help to guarantee that this headphone will keep you comfortable from start to finish! Moreover, the on-cable sound controls ensure that you will not have to look far to make adjustments.

#9 Plantronics RIG 600 Removable Mic

Plantronics-RIG-600

This headset was recommended to me by a colleague here at YGS who owns this headset, and he gave them his highest recommendation. The RIG 600 headset boasts 40mm drivers which give it a warm sound, a noise-canceling mic that makes your voice clear and ear cups that provide a great deal of comfort. The cups also fold flat which makes it good for travel and making sure that nothing breaks when you need to store away the headset. I wasn’t sure about posting this because I’ve not heard much about this brand, but upon further research, it turns out Plantronics had over 3000 employees and did over 800 million dollars revenue in 2015. All in all from what I’ve heard this is perfect bargain headset from a reputable company, and I can’t find a lot of bad features which is quite rare actually.

Pros

  • Equipped with a removable mic
  • Offers plenty of comfortable padding
  • Works with PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC
  • check
Features noise-cancelling mic and discreet inline mic
  • check
    Delivers distortion-free bass

Cons

  • May not be loud enough
  • thumbs-down
    Longevity is questionable

The Plantronics Headset looks basic, but it is surprisingly versatile. The product offers a boom and inline microphone. Just is delivers unmatched comfort. The headset is compact and very lightweight. Plus, the material is completely breathable. For the price, it is really difficult to beat this headset.

#10 Xiberia T19 Noise Isolation

Xiberia-T19

This guide I am writing has a lot of unknown gems, and this is one of them in my opinion. This headset might look quite ugly but know that sometimes looks don’t matter and it’s whats in the inside that counts. The ear pads are made out of a premium leather fabric and an ergonomic inner band that provides that important bit of comfort just where you need it. Some headsets will solely focus on the inner band and forget about the outer, but with the T19 they have taken care of both and used a stainless steel outer band which is a big part of making sure that this headset lasts a long time through all inevitable knocks and bangs. The sound quality with this headset is, and it has a feature I like that lets you adjust the bass so, for example, you can turn it down for a game like PubG where you want to listen to the higher frequency sounds more and then set it lower for other cinematic games. This is a great headset but unfortunately for whatever reason is out of stock quite a lot of them, that sometimes happens with lesser known brands who can’t afford to purchase huge quantities of stock. Be quick if you want the Xiberia T19.

Pros

  • Delivers noise isolation
  • Wired for constant power
  • Microphone is completely removable
  • check
    Stylish design
  • check
    Plenty of padding

Cons

  • Nearby people will hear it
  • thumbs-down
    Longevity may be a problem

The Xiberia T19 Gaming Headset is downright gorgeous. The grey and red color scheme will be sure to satisfy. Plus, the headset is equipped with a detachable microphone and it is more than capable of delivering crystal clear audio. With 6.56 foot of cable, you’ll be able to move freely without missing anything.
